Two White Cranes released an album yesterday, twowhitecranes, and I've spent the better part of my free time listening to the first few songs. Pieces of art that are deeply personal to the artist are the most difficult to examine and report upon, especially when dealing with our own fragile hearts, and I often require a few extra days to internally process. Mainly because I don't want to make a rash judgement. But, today, I must share a song from the album I really love, as my Song of the Day.
The 5th song on the album, 'Everyday', feels like the perfect song for those middle years. Those years when it all feels a bit too comfortable, and maybe there are some creeping doubts because it has all changed, but the time invested tempers those thoughts. Yet, they still exist.
Two White Cranes is Roxy, also from Trust Fund and Grubs. She has said these songs are what it feels like to be in love, and from what I've heard so far, this is her finest work to date. Today's Song of the Day is 'Everyday', listen below.
