I flew to Pittsburgh this past weekend for a long weekend away with friends. This was my 4th visit to the city, and each time I visit, I get to experience something new. The 1st visit was a Primanti's sandwich and too many Fathead beers, the 2nd visit involved some Wigle whiskey, and the 3rd time saw me kayaking the Allegheny River. This time was the first visit in which I was able to see some live music, Lydia Loveless at Club Cafe. And since I'd photographed Lydia one other time, Nashville in February, I reached out to her press agent, and secured a photo pass for the show. Of course, I followed my own advice to always check out the support act, and I was glad I did. Pittsburgh's very own The Red Western opened for Lydia and put on an energetic alt-country show. There was lots of hair flipping going on too, my favorite to photograph. I'm a fan! In all, 12-13 photos to share, and while you are checking them out below, stream one of my favorite tracks by the band, 'Heart Just Wants What It Wants'.
