There's nothing like an artist who teases you with just one fantastically promising track, and then disappears for a time. There, I said it, someone had to. Since May, I've anxiously awaited a new Seaker track after being floored by the ethereal beauty of 'Animal'. But, I know that life sometimes gets in the way, and most all of the artists found on these pages at Aimless Skylarking have to pay their bills somehow. The music, as is this blog, is a labor of love, and sometimes gets tossed in a stack with family, chores, bills, and the detritus of everyday life that is part of us all.
Understanding that, I kept in touch with Seaker, eager to hear news of new music, because that's why I am here. And just before Thanksgiving, Seaker contacted me with news of a new track, 'Romeo', and a private link to listen in. What I heard made the unbearable wait, incredibly rewarding. 'Romeo' built on that promise I heard in early May, and delivered in ways I had dreamed of -- deeply personal lyrics, funereal in spots, delivered by a gorgeous voice, and backed by incredible orchestration. With each listen, a newly discovered beauty. Seaker has another hit. Now, the unbearable wait for the third track. There, I said it, someone had to. I'm waiting, patiently, because I know it's going to be spectacular. Listen in to 'Romeo' below.
