Last March, I featured a London 2-piece, Young Romance based on the strength of their recently released track 'Pale'. Buzzsaw guitar, driving beat and lovely expressive vocals sucked me in. After the release, the band toured the UK in support of the single; they were invited to be part of the Dot to Dot Festival tour, and supported The Heartbreaks on a UK tour, finishing with an appearance at KOKO for Club NME.
To build on the single's success, the band went into the studio last December to record their debut EP, "Wild'. Yesterday, they released the first offering, 'Wasting Time', and it was a first spin love. It's big and bold with frontwoman Claire's voice commanding the shoegazing swirl of guitar noise. It begs for multiple listens, and makes me anxious to hear what else they have up their sleeves. Stream the fantastic 'Wasting Time' below, it's my Song of the Day!
