Sheffield indie punk duo Nai Harvest are back with a brand new song, 'Sick on My Heart'. It's the first single from their upcoming debut LP, Hairball, due out April 28th on Topshelf Records, and doesn't disappoint. 'Sick on My Heart' is a frenetic 100 mile per hour thrill ride in a car that's falling apart. The band hardly pauses for breath, and when they do, it's only to exhale loudly before returning to the task at hand, stomping on the accelerator in a maniacal mad dash into the darkness of night. They're driving it like they stole it, rewarding us all with big laughs, hi-fives, and a "let's do that again".
When I first heard the band early last year, I was surprised to learn they were a 2-piece, and how effortlessly they switched gears from screamy punk to melodic power pop and all points in between. I thought they'd reached the pinnacle with 'Rush' and 'Buttercups', but I was mistaken. They've exceeded those earlier successes and appear to be ready to make that next step.
I missed the band last year when they toured the States. Their tour stopped in Atlanta, but the date was a work night close to 4 hours away, I won't make that mistake again. Stream the sensational 'Sick on My Heart' below, it's my Song of the Day!
Nai Harvest are Ben Thompson and Lew Currie, their debut LP, Hairball, is out April 28th on Topshelf Records.
