The lack of content here at Aimless Skylarking the last two days was purely unintended. But I'll explain it away by saying Spring is here, and, I just needed a break. That said, while tackling the inbox today I came across a submission from a new to me artist, Idea the Artist and wanted to share it here. Idea the Artist is the project of Oakland based singer-songwriter Inés Beltranen who mixes folk, rock, jazz, and electronica along with her beautiful voice to create compelling offerings such as today's Song of the Day, 'Seafloor'. But, I'm not going to lie, the video sealed the deal. In addition to music, Inés is also an accomplished artist, and her vision is on display in the video. The animation is based on some of her recent watercolor paintings on ship wrecks and underwater labyrinths. It's certainly a beautiful visual piece of work, and compliments Inés' musical composition perfectly.
Her new album album was released last week, and can be found on Amazon. Join me in watching the spectacular video for 'Seafloor' below, it's my Song of the Day.
