Welsh band Cut Ribbons have been quiet since last year's fantastic EP Sail. Bassist Shane Lee moved on from the band, and just recently the band announced co-lead vocalist Anna Griffiths had left the band for other adventures. Many bands can't weather one personnel change, much less two, but the band has not let it trip them up. Eddie Russell took over on bass, and Lluan Bowen slipped into the co-lead vocalist slot. To show they're as strong as ever, this week they released a new song, 'Clouds', premiering it over on The Line of Best Fit, and announced they'd be at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton. I'll be in the UK for The Great Escape, and I'm super excited to finally see the band. They've been an Aimless Skylarking favorite since day one, I just love their fantastic vocal harmonies and their power pop sensibilities. This time out, they pull back the reins on the guitars a bit, inject some synths, but don't skimp on the soaring harmonies. It's big and confident, and a hit. Stream the sparkling 'Clouds' below.
