The main reason why I like Oliver Chapman's music is his voice; there's a lullaby quality there in his delivery, almost like a warm whisper in the ear of a close friend. Meld his voice with a band and it's rainy afternoon music. Lean back, kick your feet up, and just relax, let it wash over you.
Last Friday, Oliver announced his latest offering, the dreamy 'Best Friend' would be part of the Art is Hard Hand Cut Record Club series. The series is limited though, only 25 hand cut records will be released, and as of this posting, copies of 'Best Friend' were still available for £6, £5 shipping to the States for those interested. And even though he stepped away from bedroom productions this time out, recording with Theo Verney and 2/3 of Our Girl in tow, the vibe is still the same. I feel as if I'm asleep inside of a dream.
