I'm back from vacation, two weeks in the UK if you haven't been reading here, and that's put me terribly behind here at Aimless Skylarking. While I was away, the inbox swelled to close to 1000 emails, which will need to be addressed, and then there's the close to 30 bands I saw perform while on vacation. I aim to sift through all the emails, and sprinkle in a few remarks here and there when I can about all that music I heard while globetrotting. Despite the backlog and post-vacation blues, I'll continue to share music.
Today's Song of the Day is from an Aimless Skylarking alum, Oracle Room. Oracle Room is the music of Alex Nelson, Brooklyn based songwriter/vocalist. Last October, Alex submitted 'The Knot' and I fell for the dark and detached slow burning synth track. Now, she's back with a spectacular new song, 'Have Everything'. While the recipe didn't change much, 'Have Everything' is a far richer musical offering, entirely more accessible. And I'll go out on a limb here and say, the other two tracks on the EP, 'Walking In A Circle' and 'Seeds', just may be better than the lead track. Have Everything is out June 2nd, stream the lead track below.
