One of my favorite songs from the past couple of years is the rousing 'Sand Smiles' by Birdskulls. It reminds me of the time when grunge gave way to more radio friendly sounds while still retaining the big riffs and punk attitude that made it a winner in everyone's book. That is until it all became a pale reflection of itself and started to seriously suck. Copying a copy of a copy turned pathetic. I won't mention any names, but I was glad to hear the post-grunge sound go, even if it meant nu-metal was pushed into the spotlight. Anyway, Birdskulls are firmly in that sweet spot of grunge's gradual shift to things more melodic, and now they're back with a new track and news of an album.
Just recently, the band shared 'Good Enough' (video too) from their upcoming full length, Trickle. The LP is set for release later this year on Dog Knights Productions, no date was given. The band didn't veer away from those great sounds I love so much on 'Good Enough' and I can't wait to hear what the rest of the Trickle has to offer. Stream it below.
