One artist I missed at The Great Escape a few weeks back was West London artist Pillars. An early set on Thursday, check in time at my airbnb rental was at noon, and the rain kept me away. That wasn't only tough decision I had to make during the 3 day festival, I saw 23-24 bands in all, but had to pass on that many or more because of timing. Anyway, I wanted to see Pillars not only because she seems like a mystery woman, but because I truly enjoyed her first effort, the minimalistic 'Attacker'. Her voice found a crack in my armor, worked its way in, and got under my skin. Just recently she offered up another gorgeous track, 'Woman Without Her Love', and it's having the same effect. In early May, she unveiled a video shot by Harvey Pearson featuring dancer Megan Alder-Cox, join me in watching it below.
