If you've been reading these pages you've probably heard me gripe about the local live music scene, it's not that great. But it's changing, and it's all because of beer. I'm not talking Bud Light or PBR, I'm talking real deal craft beer. I've been on board with it from the get go about 7-8 years ago, and now my home county features 10 breweries. And these breweries are slowly building taprooms, attracting food trucks, and ultimately bringing in live music. Some of that live music comes from bands on tour in the south, and I'm excited about that. Nashville and Birmingham are far more lucrative spots with what seems to be a venue on every corner, but if Huntsville can offer many options to indie bands, it could be a convenient spot to stop.
This Friday night, Yellowhammer Brewing is hosting Banditos, and I'll be there. The band is signed to Bloodshot Records, and I've secured a photo pass for the show. Of course, after I get them processed, I'll share the best of the lot here. So, if you're in Alabama this Friday, come on out and support local beer and a local band. If you're not local, and you like some garage southern rock, stream 'Still Sober' below.
