I've been back from my UK music vacation for 2 weeks and I still haven't shared my experiences from the trip. The post-vacation madness has been strong, and it's been a difficult transition back to working stiff, but I will get around to it very soon. The biggest culprit has been the brutal 6 hour time swing. I think after copious amounts of melatonin, I might be caught up on sleep.
While I love taking my pro camera and big lenses into most shows, I wanted to enjoy the shows I saw while in London and at the Great Escape without it feeling too much like work. I decided to be satisfied with a few cell phone photos, and maybe a few with the point and shoot if the lighting was right. Now, that I've been able to catch my breath, I discovered that a few of the photos I took with my Sony mirrorless point and shoot looked really good after a bit of touching up with Lightroom. Maybe even as good as some photos I've taken in the past with my Canon 5d Mark III. The subject on two different occasions was the Welsh band Cut Ribbons.
And the setlist. Sadly, no 'White Horses' but 'Memorial' made my day.
