I've learned over the years to never skip the opening or support act. If I've paid for the ticket, I want to squeeze every bit of enjoyment out of my hard earned money. And by doing that, I've discovered so many fantastic bands I would have never heard if I had been like many who only show up for the headliner. One such band is Nashville's psych country rockers, Promised Land Sound. Early last year, I caught them when they opened up for Angel Olsen at the Bottletree Cafe in Birmingham and was glad I showed early. Fantastic harmonies and some downright spectacular guitar melodies hooked me, and haven't let go. I'm anxious to see them perform again.
Now the band is back with a brand new track and news of a new LP. For Use and Delight will be released on Paradise of Bachelors Records September 29th 2015, and the first offering is making September seem so far away. Stream the introspective 'She Takes Me There' below.
