About a year ago I received a submission much like I do every other day. This time was a bit different, Dubliner Lilla Vargen's e-mail submission was 5 lines long; in all, 12 words and 2 links. One link to the music and the other to her Facebook page. Here's my music, and here's where I can be found, thank you. And I like thank you 100 times more than thanks, it just seems warm and whole-hearted, truly sincere.
With her simple submission, she stunned me with a piano driven heart rending song about love and wondering if it is real, 'This Is Love'. It's well trod territory, but never gets old when the artist has a voice capable of melting the hardest of hearts. And that's where Lilla suceeds. Since then, she covered the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Don't Forget Me" and made it all her own. It's as every bit as gorgeous as her first effort, showing off her mesmerizing voice. She's had a few live dates, but no other news since then. I, as well as many others, hope for new music in 2016 and more performances from this emerging talent.
