Early in 2015, I received an email from an artist I'd not heard of, Seaker from North London. A quick look around the net showed little information online, few Twitter followers and even fewer Facebook likes. Even then, it wasn't quite clear who Seaker was, but I like that. All that existed were intriguing blurry atmospheric black and white photos. The music did all the talking though, and I was entranced. Bewitched might be a better word.
Seaker released two stunning tracks last year, 'Animal' and 'Romeo'. Both feature luscious orchestration and Seaker's remarkable dynamic vocals. Fragile and angelic, yet big and bold at the same time.
According to Seaker, a third song is in the works, and we here at Aimless Skylarking are crossing our fingers for more than that. An EP would further the excitement, that be chuffed for all you Brits. But I would trade all of that for a live performance when I return to London in the Spring. Stream 'Romeo' and 'Animal' below.
