New on the scene alt-rock trio Dama Scout, formed via Glasgow and London, have released their debut song, "Forget It's Good." The track is taken from a collection of tracks written and produced almost entirely in a bedroom. As far as influences, the band counts Cocteau Twins and The Beach Boys as influences, as well as garage-rock and Japanese Shibuya-kei (I had to Google that). Other than that, band member Eva offered up little more information about the band. Even the video for the track, a mash-up of family home movies and archive footage, was mysterious. Sometimes you just have to let the music speak for itself, and Dama Scout has done that. By veering from dream pop to downright alt-rock guitar growl with relative ease, the band has crafted a wholly compelling first offering. The band has said more music is coming before the end of the year, and I'm excited to hear what's next from this promising new band. Find "Forget It's Good" below.
