A few weeks back, I made the 90 minute trek to Birmingham to see long-time favorite Amanda X at the Spring Street Firehouse. The band was traveling through the area, headed to a festival in Florida, and since it wasn't a work night, I decided to get my butt down there to see them. Matlock wasn't on either.
I took my Canon 5d Mark III camera and f2.8 24-70 lens to document the night. Photographing live music is challenging even in some of the best venues with great lighting, but Spring Street Firehouse's minimal LED lighting and dark as a cave conditions proved to be my foil. The results were noisy and not terribly sharp. Anyway, enjoy my favorite song by the band, 'Parsnip', as you check out a few of the not so terrible shots below.
