I'm finally circling back around to finish processing the photos I took of my favorite current band, The Joy Formidable. On their current tour supporting their latest LP, Hitch, the band stopped in Nashville which is just 90 minutes away from my home in North Alabama. And since it was a Friday night, I was in. Then when I saw where they'd be two nights later, Pittsburgh, I knew it would a Joy weekend. I have friends in Pittsburgh, so I asked off work, bought VIP Meet and Greet tickets for both shows, and picked up my airline tickets.
Taking photos of your favorite band is fun, but also entirely stressful. But since this was the 3rd time I'd photographed the band, I worried less about getting the perfect shot, more about enjoying the show. In Nashville I photographed, in Pittsburgh, I enjoyed the show. Both shows were fantastic, the new tracks fit seamlessly with the band's library and already energetic show. The band is at the top of their game, and I documented that in Nashville. Enjoy their latest track, "The Last Thing on my Mind" as you peruse my photos from the show.
