I absolutely love a tune that pushes me to my knees, always have. But I can't quite put my finger on why. I'm a happy person, I really am, perhaps those forlorn tales serve as a reminder to slow down, to breathe, and to live. To be thankful for life's gifts. So, yeah, I'm a sucker for a sad song, and Scottish pop artist Nina Nesbitt has wrecked me with her sorrowful new track, Brisbane. Of the track, she had this to say about it on her Facebook page:
You've been sending me stories about your lives, I've been turning them in to songs. Here is track 2, it comes all the way from Brisbane...
I tried to capture all the conflicting emotions you'd feel after losing someone close to you. Whether it be anger, fear of forgetting the small personal things, guilt, sadness etc. I hope some of you can relate and find solace in listening X
I'm going in for another listen, stream 'Brisbane' along with me.
