Aimless Skylarking favorite WOOF. is back with a new track, 'Honeybee'. With each release, WOOF. aka Kelan Bonislawski, amazes me with how he's grown as an artist. And, because I never know what I'm going to get. Find the slow burning 'Honeybee' below.
Durham, North Carolina trio See Gulls are back with a new EP. I featured a track off the band's last EP, You Can't See Me, and fell in love with a really rough cut of 'I Want It'. Their latest EP, Curtain Call, came out last month, and included a polished up version of that track. It's still excellent, find it below.
In 2015, Kingston, New York's Shana Falana knocked me on my butt with her gorgeous album Set Your Lightning Fire Free. The album was packed full of dream pop, fuzzy shoegazing guitars, and bright soaring vocals, and finished as one of our favorite albums of the year. Now she's back with a new LP coming October 21st, Here Comes the Wave. The opening track, 'Lie 2 Me', doesn't veer from Set Your Lightning Fire Free's intoxicating recipe. Check it out below.
Brooding synth-pop Londoners Empathy Test have released the second single from their double A-Side ‘Demons / Seeing Stars’. 'Seeing Stars' captures the band's handle on dark and gloomy synth-pop. I can't wait to hear what they have in store for their debut album. Check out 'Seeing Stars' below.
Welsh indie rockers Beach Fatigue are back with a new single, 'Only You', out right now. The release, on their Bandcamp page, includes four bonus tracks taken from a live session for BBC Radio Wales. Every sound the band generates seems as if custom tailored for a Tarantino movie. And 'Only You' is no different, stream it below.
Come to think of it, I have never met or known anyone from New Hampshire. An absolutely lovely state I've heard, and one I will be visiting soon. Or hope to. Anyway Brandon MacNeil is from the great state, Derry to be precise, and he makes some interesting lo-fi punk flecked folky music performing as All Those Ships. His album, Meteorology for Runners is out this Friday. Find the lead track 'Broken Cassette' below.
At the end of 2014, I first heard Baltimore artist Albert Bagman. A truly mysterious artist, in the haunting video for 'Miss Mortinioner' he performed with a bag over his head. The track was incredibly intoxicating, and I was fascinated. I missed his last release, but just recently he contacted about a new release coming October 7th. The release is a six-song EP about letting the madness freak flag fly! Count me in, find the unhinged lead track, 'Block Freak' below.
