Seattle based artist Liyv Holman describes her music as pastel pop -- songs for sad people who like bright colors. After a few listens to each of her songs in her One Song A Month project, I'm going to agree. There is a melancholic whimsy imbued in her art, particularly May to August, including the artwork for each single. It's all quite masterful in thought and execution. Ignoring all of that, the true star is Liyv's stunning voice. Demure yet with hints of playfulness, damn lovely is what it is.
